“Look, grandma,” Damon sighed, “Instead of worrying about me ‘standing in your way’, you should turn a watchful eye to any little pawns you’ve gathered. I’m set on ruining your fun. They’re set on putting you six feet under and recruiting help from other vampires.”
Katherine scoffed out loud as she found Damon’s threats really hilarious. “The grandma jokes are so last year Damon.” She faked a pout and put her hands on her hips slowly shaking her head from side to side. “Do you honestly think you can get rid of me.” Another chuckle escaped her lips and she tilted her head smiling at Damon. “Good luck.” She turned around winking at him before she speeded away into the woods.
“Okay, first,” Damon started, sending Katherine an exasperated look, “I know you’re probably as old as a fucking dinosaur and can have me six feet under in two seconds flat, but you don’t know me, or my brother. Second, if I want to play with Elena until she’s so messed up in the head she needs to be in a psych ward, I will do it. If you tell me to stay away from her one more time, regardless of what your intentions are, I’ll go snap her neck right now and be done with it all.” His eyes were hard and he sent her a tight lipped smile as he mimicked her own word back to her, “Clear?”
Katherine’s gaze changed into a glare as she narrowed her eyes at him. “You don’t want me to snap your neck again do you?” She asked in a calm tone still glaring at Damon. “Because I can easily do that or drive a stake through your heart, because you’re absolutely right, I can get rid of you in a second and right now you’re just a waste of time standing in my way!”
“She’s an idiot.” Damon replied in monotone, shrugging at Katherine’s words, “But I’m not her mother, she could do whatever she wants. If you should be telling anyone anything it’s that psychotic, overly jealous boyfriend of hers.” He managed to ignore the way she was eyeing him up and down, and said, “What you need, and what you get are going to be two completely different things, Katherine. I’m going to keep on messing with Elena’s pretty little head as much as I want, the way I have been doing, until I get bored. I’ve no part to play in whatever hidden agenda you’re keeping.”
“Why would there be a hidden agenda?” Katherine shrugged asking innocently. “You can find another girl to mess their head with, just stay away from Elena okay? Believe it or not but I actually might want to keep her alive and mixing her into vampire business is not a good idea, especially if it’s in between you and Saint Stefan. I heard things about you two and how you tend to fall for the same girl from time to time.” Katherines smile slowly faded away as she spoke. “Clear?”
“Oh grow up.” Damon responded with a roll of his eyes, “You swear all relationships are romantic.” Damon’s eyes narrowed as he watched her move, “I don’t know, what exactly do you need help with?”
“And aren’t they, I don’t know about you but little miss sunshine seems to be all over you, and… your brother. I happened to see the two of them chitchatting one afternoon, such a lovely couple.” Katherine smirked at Damon and folded her arms slowly tilting her head to the side while she was eyeing him up and down. “I need you to stay out of Elena’s way. Simple as that.”
“Oh, I have no doubt she’s been doing your bidding,” Damon shrugged, “What with her poking her little nose in my business, trying to ask about my relationship with Elena.” with a small sigh, Damon stood up, contemplating whether or not he should mention Mona’s little traitorous plan just to get the annoying girl out of his hair, “Is there somethng I can help you with?” he drawled, deciding to keep his mouth shut for the time being.
Katherine narrowed her eyes at Damon and her lips curled up in a playful smirk. “Do you have a relationship with Elena?” She let out a short chuckle and turned around slowly started to walk up and down the front porch before she slowly spun around to face Damon and answer his question. “I don’t know, is there something you could help me with?”
A frustrated groan left Damon as he sat up to be greeted with the image of Katherine Pierce right in front of him, “I just got rid of your little dog, now I have to deal with you, too?” he asked, only to shrug at her question, “I wouldn’t be snooping if you didn’t have your little spy running around and getting on my nerves.”
Katherine looked up from the book at the mention of her little dog and it was completely obvious Damon meant Mona by that. Katherine sighed and asked. “What did that little bitch do now?”
The book resting in Damon’s hands was slowly starting to infuriate him; he’d been set on trying to find out more about what Katherine was after in town, but any book regarding dopplegangers that he’d stumbled upon all spewed the same nonsense and this one was no different. Letting out an annoyed groan, Damon slammed the book shut and fell back against the groud.
“It’s such a waste to throw around books like that.” Katherine said suddenly appearing right in front of Damon where the book landed on the floor. She picked it up and looked at the book raising one eyebrow. “Snooping around are we?”
Mona was offended but didn’t want to show that. “Could you get any more arrogant? Can’t you just appreciate what I do you for you, a little sympathy isn’t that much asking you know. And you say you can replace me any time, why did you choose me then? Not anyone else?”
Katherine rolled her eyes too annoyed to even answer her stupid questions so she spat. “Less talking more action please? You know what to do so please only talk to me once you have something good.” She flashed her a faked smile and got up not looking back at Mona at all.
Mona looked at Katherine in a cold way. “If I’m that bad why did you turn me in the first place?”
“Could you get any more stupid Mona? I turned you because I needed someone to spy for me on Elena, because as you can see I can’t really do that on my own because it would be pretty obvious to her that someone that looks exactly like her wants to be friends with her. You are invisible and nobody cares about you that’s why you’re the perfect little spy. Except you’re being really lousy at your job.” Katherine rolled her eyes at the brunette.
